I have several allergies.Currently they know i'm allergic to fragrance mix-they have no clue which fragrance,wither or not it's synthetic,etc.I'm waiting to get tested for the specifics. So I've been using various recipes I've found online for laundry soap. I tried two powder versions and decided that I just don't like powder detergents. So, I found some liquid recipes. I have a full size sheepskin that I normally put over a trunk. The hair is long (3-5") and looks real grimy because of dust. I know better than to put it in a washing machine and was told that even hand washing could damage and/or matt the fibers. Does anyone have suggestions on how I could clean it up? I've noticed a musty smell in my last couple loads of laundry. I think I left some wet clothes in there a bit longer than I should of and they started to mildew. This smell is faint, but quite annoying. I have a front loading washer with a level indicator so I'm wondering if I can run it without clothes and put something in to get rid of it ( Read more... )

The shops here sell pure lavender oil and water miscible lavender oil. I would like to make the second out of the first as needed. Is mixing it with cheap vodka sufficient to do this, or would I need to buy some other sort of alcohol or solvent? We don't have vodka on hand but it is easy to get.
